DIY Faux Milk Glass Ceterpieces

DIY is at it's best when it can save you money AND time while adding a personal touch and a little creativeness. I am always on the look for a special treasure; and what better way to create your own special treasure than turning a second hand clear vase into a vintage milk glass with some glossy white spray paint!

Materials needed:
*assorted vintage glass vases
*rubbing alcohol (optional)
*brown craft paper or newspaper
*latex gloves
*white glossy spray paint (Krylon multipurpose indoor/outdoor gloss white)

Instructions:
Step 1: Use rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball or paper towel to remove any sticky residue from the vase. Wash vases with soap and dry completely.

Step 2: Lay down paper on your spraying surface in a well ventilated area. Shake spray paint for 1-2 minutes before spraying. Shake between sprays as well. Wearing gloves, work from side to side, spraying the vases with spray paint. Don't get to close to the vase to avoid drips/runs.

Step 3: Rotate vases until covered, let dry a few mintues before adding a second coat.

Step 4: Let dry completely.

Dating Divas

Sometimes I feel like I am just plain not romantic enough. Please tell me I am not the only one?! I am totally, crazy, in love with my hubby, yet I sometimes treat him like a room-mate (gasp)! Childern, errands, dinner, money, diapers, work, LIFE sometimes gets in the way. Dating Divas to the rescue! I can't even tell you how delighted I was to find their website. It's all about getting back to the basics of being in love.

Dating Divas was started by 12 fabulous Divas who all had the same problem: Each of them was married to a super-duper hottie, of course, but they were discovering that they were letting LIFE take over and they weren't focusing on their husband as much as they would like. Sound familiar? It's like they were talking to ME! They quickly came up with a romance plan. The 12 Divas decided to take turns creating super fun, creative and inexpensive ideas each week.

Do you forget to say the small things sometimes? I do! "I love you?", "Thank You?", "Your toosh is ridiculously cute!?" Its time to let our men know we appreciate and love the small things! Like Love notes you can leave all over the house, Kristen created printable love notes and the most adorable love note tear pad. How about a little group fun?! Have you watched 'Minute to Win It?' Erika posts about throwing a 'Couples Minute To Win it Party'. I am SO planning this get together with some friends (start practicing).

Changing Your Name Goes Hi-Tech

Today has been a discovery of a whole new world of hi-tech wedding applications. If you're hitched, you already know what a pain it is to change your name. Filing out forms, notifying credit card companies and banks, getting a new drivers license, a new work email--it's such a drag that so many of us (including yours truly) have dragged our feet when it comes to completing the process.

Thankfully, brides-to-be can rely on MissNowMrs.com--a secured website that actually automatically fills out all of the necessary forms for you! Here's how it works: you answer a series of questions (you can opt to fill in your social security number by hand), the system fills out the forms, and then allows you to check and print them--and provides the 411 on filing (addresses, fees, special instructions, etc.). Packages start at $19.95 for the driver's license and SSN name change forms and go up to $29.92--for virtually everything else, from passports to insurance notifications. Of course, read all the fine print and if you have questions about their privacy guarantees, read about them online.

The tangled web of life

Hello my friends! Yes, I know it's been WAY to long since my last post and I'm truly sorry! Life has been very busy for us the last couple of months...

I've been working on quite a few fun projects, some marketing material for a cycling event in town, two weddings, and racing material for my brother Dalton. All while trying to keep up with my day-to-day job, being a wife, and mom...no wonder I'm SO tired! But I wouldn't change a thing about.

Rae seems to be changing hourly, I wake up with a 2yr old, and put to bed a 12yr old HA! This morning on our way to day care, she told me that she didn't want to be a big girl anymore and needed to take her binky to school or she'd be sad! Can we say a tad dramatic, she is to funny!

Robbie's family is having a very rough time right now. His family has been turned upside down due to the weekends events. My heart goes out to all of them. Please keep them in your thoughts, for the pain and realty of what they are going through seems so unreal.
